Job Description: Trustees of Christmas Day at the Greeno, elected annually at the AGM

 

About Us

Christmas Day at the Greeno is a small, community-focused charity dedicated to providing a full  Christmas Day programme at the Greeno Centre including a full three course lunch with presents and gifts for those in Shepperton and surrounding area. (We are independent of the Greeno Centre.)

We rely on a small team of trustees and volunteers to organise the event, source all goods and services, and help out on Christmas Day.

 

Role Purpose

As a trustee, you will be part of a small team that helps guide the strategic direction of the charity, ensure we remain true to our mission and values, and support good governance.  You will be expected to help out in the organisation of the event, taking responsibility for some areas of organisation and be part of the governance, ensuring the day goes as smoothly as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in trustee meetings (typically 3 or 4 per year).

• Contribute to setting and reviewing the charity’s strategic aims and policies (e.g. safeguarding).

• Monitor financial performance and ensure robust financial controls and risk management.

• Act as an ambassador for the charity within the community.

• Support and encourage the team leaders and ensure that all organisational areas are functioning correctly.
